Palangka Raya, [22/10] — The Good Forest Indonesia Foundation (GFI) and the Central Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in implementing a tree planting programme in Central Kalimantan Province.

The MoU was signed by the Head of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service, Mr H. M. Agustan Saining, S.Hut., M.Si, and the Director of the Good Forest Indonesia Foundation, Mrs. Fadhillah Hanum, in Palangka Raya City.

This cooperation is the first step for both parties to strengthen collaboration in reforestation and land rehabilitation efforts outside forest areas. Through this MoU, GFI and the Forestry Service are committed to supporting sustainable tree planting activities and involving local communities as part of efforts to preserve the environment and improve local economic welfare.

GFI Director Fadhillah Hanum welcomed this cooperation as an important step in expanding the impact of community-based reforestation. ‘Good Forest Indonesia warmly welcomes the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with the Forestry Service. We hope that this cooperation will open up broader opportunities for collaboration in tree planting activities. Through this partnership, we want to work together with the Forestry Service to contribute to forest and land rehabilitation programmes, while also promoting the provision of plant seedlings that have added value for the community,’ she said.

This collaboration is expected to serve as a concrete example of synergy between government agencies and community organisations in promoting forest conservation actions in Central Kalimantan, as well as supporting sustainable development goals in the forestry sector.
