Our Story

Good Forest Indonesia (GFI) was founded on a decade-long commitment to landscape restoration and community empowerment in Indonesia. Our journey began in 2013 under Fairventures Worldwide (FVW), a German NGO focusing on landscape restoration. Over the years, we successfully implemented large-scale agroforestry projects, working hand in hand with smallholder farmers to rehabilitate degraded lands across Central Kalimantan Province.

We transitioned from FVW and officially established GFI in 2024. This transformation allowed us to deepen our focus on community-led reforestation, agroforestry innovations, and climate resilience strategies tailored to Indonesia’s unique challenges and potentials.

Today, GFI continues to build on its strong foundation, expanding its impact across Indonesia. With an experienced team and strong partnerships, we are committed to restoring forests and creating sustainable economic opportunities for local communities.

Our Project Area

We work together with smallholder farmers in Gunung Mas, Barito Timur, Katingan, and Pulang Pisau Regency in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia.
